Bangkok Flooding Nov 1

Water from Klong Prapa has overflowed to flood Chaeng Wattana Road in front of the Government Complex, making the road impassable for small vehicles.

The government lottery has been disrupted by the flood crisis. Meanwhile, 436 commercial bank branches and more than 4,000 ATM machines around the country have been closed.

Employees remove items from a plastic factory in the Bangchan Industrial Estate in Min Buri. The cabinet has decided not to declare additional official holidays to make it easier to combat flooding

The water level on Rarm Intra Road has continued to rise, making it impassable. Meanwhile, water from the Lat Phrao canal has overflowed and inundated Ratchadaphisek Road in Huai Khwang.

A 1.5m sandbag wall has been built around Government House to prevent floodwater entering the building. The cabinet has assigned Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yubamrung to chair a working committee to oversee security, safety and traffic issues relating to the flood crisis.
Residents of Bang Kae reported that floodwater was coming out of drainage ditches on pedestrian walkways. Meanwhile, 400 residents of the Bang Kae home for the elderly were evacuated to a learning centre in Ratchaburi province.
